• Lining up potential internet, microfilm, and on-site resources (including research already complete) to be searched and the records to be sought from these resources.

• Prioritizing the searches in a sequence that takes best advantage of available time - getting the best bang for the buck.

• Recommendations for planning on-site research trips.
